About Monica

Monica has been gardening since she was a baby. Her Grandfather used to take her in the buggy to the family garden plot. Her mother was an amazing veggie & flower garden creator on Sea Island. Truly, her entire life has evolved around gardening. Gardening is her passion and therapy. During the seasons of the year, she has found the healing power of the earth and scents of the air in a garden to help balance her soul.

Monica moved to Courtenay in March, 2020 with her elderly mother.  She joined Royal LePage in the Comox Valley.  She had been a realtor for over 20+ years in Greater Vancouver and Bowen region.  In 2023, she retired to follow her passion as a Gardener.  She has created gardens in many residences over past 40+ years but this time she has reinvented herself as “The Happy Gardener” offering her knowledgable services in the Comox Valley.

Monica has had several volunteer positions over the last 40 years, as a board member of the Bowen Island Garden Club as the speaker coordinator and Vice President.  On Bowen Island, she volunteered as board member of the Knick Knack Knook Reuse It store with the main mission of fundraising  was to facilitate the community of Bowen Island  in beautification of public areas and encouraging composting.
